Devialet was founded in Paris in 2007 by three engineers Quentin Sannie, Pierre-Emmanuel Calmel, andEmmanuel Nardin who asked a question that most of the audio industry considered settled: was it trulyimpossible to build an amplifier that combined the power and dynamic range of Class A/B solid-state with theharmonic purity of pure Class A, in a form factor small enough to live in a modern home? Their answer, afteryears of development, was a patented circuit topology they called Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) and the resultwas an amplifier unlike anything that had existed before. Devialet’s Paris headquarters now employs more than200 engineers, all working on the same fundamental problem: how to make extraordinary sound reproductionphysically accessible.

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

Devialet’s ADH technology combines a digital switching amplifier which provides power efficiency andthermal management with an analogue Class A amplifier that handles the output signal. The digital stageprovides power; the analogue stage provides purity. The result measures at distortion levels below 0.001% andsignal-to-noise ratios that exceed anything achievable through conventional analogue design. The Phantomseries takes this further, integrating the amplification, digital processing, and acoustic driver system into a singlesealed enclosure, eliminating the cables, connectors, and impedance mismatches that compromiseconventional component systems. The SAM (Speaker Active Matching) system applies a unique equalisationprofile derived from physical modelling of the acoustic drivers, allowing the system to operate closer to thephysical limits of the drivers than any passive crossover could achieve.

WHY THE AUDIO TAILOR CARRIES DEVIALET

We carry Devialet because it answers a genuine need: clients who want performance that competes with the best traditional separates, in a form that integrates beautifully into how they actually live. Devialet is also, for many clients, the beginning of a longer journey the first time they have heard what truly great audio sounds like. Alive With Sound.

Tailor-made user experience.

Devialet Astra takes personalised audio excellence into a new dimension. With a multitude of physical audio sources available (coaxial and optical digital inputs, USB-C, analogue phono and line inputs, Ethernet, or even dual band Wi-Fi…), a seamless in-app control, and a brand new advanced configurator, Devialet Astra is entirely configurable to get the best of any sound setup.

Flexibility & Scalability

Devialet Astra allows for an expansive set-up that can be tailored to your listening environment and requirements. Upgrade to Dual configuration, placing your Devialet Astras side by side or stacked on top of each other for twice the power and sound performances.

Connectivities, elevated.

A revamped software architecture harnesses the power of the cutting-edge iMX8 processor, paired with the new version of Devialet Operating System, DOS3. This powerful combination radically improves Devialet Astra’s compatibility and allows for the seamless integration of a wide range of streaming protocols such as AirPlay, Google Cast Built-in, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, UPnP and Tidal Connect.

Unique, compact and extreme design.

Devialet Astra epitomises the fusion of form and functionality. While staying true to the slim silhouette, signature of the Expert series, Devialet Astra’s design has been thoroughly modernised to enhance both aesthetics and usability.

Sound. Like you never felt it.

With these proprietary technologies, Devialet Astra not only adapts to your current audio setup but evolves with your changing preferences.

Analog Digital Hybrid

Devialet Astra embarks the latest generation of our proprietary ADH technology, unlocking the widest frequency range possible. Central to Devialet’s legacy, this technology works by simultaneously harnessing all the linearity and refinement of analogue amplification (Class A) and all the power and compactness of digital amplification (Class D), delivering Hi-Res sound that stands out both in impact and precision.

Precision in Hand.

Devialet Astra also comes equipped with a redesigned remote. Matching Devialet Astra’s sleek casing, it features a built-in screen for real-time feedback on actions like volume setting and playlist navigation. And its central knob allows for ultra-precise volume control in 1 dB increments.

The remote is battery-powered and can be easily charged via USB-C.

Speaker Active Matching

SAM next-gen technology precisely matches the audio output to the specifications of passive speakers, preserving their acoustic signature in real time. This advanced technology ensures even finer adaptation of the sound signal and perfect time alignment between the recorded signal and the sound pressure generated by the speaker’s drivers: the secret to more impactful bass.

Record Active Matching

RAM technology allows dynamic equaliser adjustments tailored to the characteristics of your turntable or vinyl records, seamlessly adapting the phono stage for optimal performance.

A bijou ofFrench engineering.

Devialet Astra’s amplifier redefines expectations with its radical form factor. Strikingly sleek, thin, and compact, it stands in a world of its own, delivering bleeding-edge technology in a form that enhances any space. Its design draws heavily from the timeless aesthetics of the Art Deco and Streamline movements. Emphasising minimalism, Devialet Astra maintains the clean lines of the Expert range while luxurious guilloche-inspired details, typically seen in high-end watch dials, add significant character.

AdvancedConfigurator.

Devialet Astra’s initial setup is streamlined through our redesigned online configurator, a user-friendly platform for configuring all inputs and outputs. Accessible directly from the Devialet website, it features access to our SAM Speaker Active Matching database, counting more than 1,200 passive speakers profiles, gathered over 10 years of expert tests around the globe.

Devialet App :Seamless in-app control.

The Devialet App acts as your command centre, providing access to a broad range of on-the-fly adjustments straight from a smartphone or tablet: set-up preferences, volume, input selection, phono stage adjustments, stereo balance and dual-band equaliser, power modes, down to screen brightness.
